Atlanta, GA — April 14, 2026 — WHYME Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, empowering, and advocating for fashion models and creatives, is proud to announce the official start of its Spring 2026 Fashion Model Certification Program. Classes begin April 29, 2026, marking a new chapter for aspiring models seeking accredited, industry-ready training in Atlanta, Georgia.
Built on two successful years of curriculum taught at Georgia State University, WHYME's rigorous five-month certification program offers a one-of-a-kind experience that goes far beyond traditional modeling schools. The program, offered in-person only and limited to 1–10 students per class, covers two courses, FASH 3100 and FASH 3101, both of which must be completed and passed to receive certification and participate in the program's signature certification presentation fashion show.
Teach the Fundamentals
WHYME builds a strong foundation in modeling, including posing, movement, runway technique, and on-set professionalism. The curriculum prepares talent for real industry expectations and castings, ensuring every graduate steps into the marketplace with the skills, confidence, and poise that agencies and client's demand.
Portfolio & Materials Development
Each participant works directly with WHYME's team to develop a professional portfolio with polished images and essential materials. Students leave the program with a complete, industry-ready package, the tools needed to compete at the highest level from day one.
Post-Certification Resources
WHYME's commitment to its talent doesn't end at graduation. The organization supports models after training with guidance on agency submissions, networking strategies, and long-term career growth. Graduates gain the resources to stay consistent, competitive, and visible in an ever-evolving industry.
Advocacy, Mental Health & Fair Industry Standards
At its core, WHYME's mission extends beyond training. The organization champions mental health support, fair financial structures, and legal advocacy for models at every stage of their careers — ensuring talent feels safe, protected, and equipped to build sustainable futures in fashion.
Leadership
The program is led by Justyn Burgest-Graham, Dean of Fashion and award-winning international fashion model and entrepreneur, alongside other legends in the industry, both experienced fashion models and industry mentors.
To date, WHYME has positively impacted over 1,000 students, with 100+ working fashion models in the industry, a 98% career growth rate among students, and alumni spanning more than five international countries.
Fashion Futures Scholarship
WHYME also offers the $1,000 annual Fashion Futures Scholarship, supporting undergraduates pursuing careers that blend business acumen and artistic expression in the creative industries.
Applications for the Spring 2026 cohort have been extended through April 2026. Enrollment decisions are made on a rolling basis. The program is in-person, Atlanta-based, and open to individuals 18 years of age or older.
