Justyn Burgest-Graham Shares the Story Behind the Creation of GZTV

ATLANTA — Long before GZTV became a fashion streaming network available in more than 170 countries, it began as an idea inspired by a challenge founder Justyn Burgest-Graham encountered while launching his career in fashion. As he navigated the industry, Burgest-Graham found that fashion films, runway presentations, documentaries, interviews, and original productions were dispersed across multiple platforms, making it difficult for both industry professionals and consumers to discover fashion entertainment in one place. That experience became the catalyst for creating GZTV; a platform built to establish fashion as its own genre by bringing together fashion cinema, storytelling, technology, and culture into a single global destination.

From International Fashion Model to Founder

Before founding GZTV, Burgest-Graham established himself as an award-winning international fashion model, building a career that spanned Europe and the United States. He has walked in London Fashion Week, Berlin Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, Atlanta Fashion Week, and Miami Fashion Week, while collaborating with brands including Nike, Adidas, Jordan, New Balance, Microsoft, Macy’s, Tell The Truth Paris, Adobe, Athletes Foot, Huel, and Taliah Waajid. Those experiences provided him with firsthand exposure to the global fashion industry and shaped his understanding of the need for a dedicated fashion media platform.

Taking Over Development

According to the company, the earliest versions of GZTV were initially developed with outside software engineers, including developers with experience at IBM. As development progressed, Burgest-Graham determined the product no longer reflected the creative vision and identity he had imagined for the company.

He subsequently assumed the role of Head Engineer, leading the redevelopment of the platform with the support of a small engineering team. In addition to overseeing software development, Burgest-Graham directed the creation of the GZTV website, designed the company’s branding and logo, established the user experience, planned platform features, produced the streaming ecosystem, and helped build the company’s overall identity from the ground up.

Learning Through Fashion and Technology

Burgest-Graham’s interest in technology began years before GZTV. During high school, he studied cybersecurity through the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), where he developed an interest in software engineering and digital technologies.

His fashion education continued throughout his professional career. He completed certification through LVMH, studying the global luxury industry and luxury brand management, while also earning a degree from Georgia State University. According to the company, lessons learned through luxury fashion education, technology, and mentorship from professionals across fashion and entertainment helped shape the long-term strategy behind GZTV.

Building a New Category

Today, GZTV has grown into a dedicated fashion streaming network available in more than 170 countries, featuring more than 60 original and licensed productions across documentaries, fashion films, runway presentations, interviews, historical archives, and exclusive premieres.

The platform has generated more than one million impressions, expanded internationally, and collaborated with organizations and brands including Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s Lenox, PUMA, Atlanta Tech Week, RenderATL, and numerous fashion houses, designers, photographers, and creatives. GZTV continues developing proprietary technologies, including Giri, its AI-powered fashion assistant, while expanding to additional devices, including Apple TV and Android.

Rooted in Community

Beyond the platform, Burgest-Graham has continued investing in fashion education and community initiatives through WHYME Corporation and the WHYME Institute of Fashion, where he serves as Dean of Fashion. The organization provides fashion education, career development, and creative resources while partnering with nonprofit organizations to expand opportunities for aspiring creatives.

Looking Ahead

As GZTV continues expanding its original programming and technology, the company plans additional productions covering international fashion weeks in New York, London, Milan, Paris, and Berlin, while continuing to build a centralized destination for fashion entertainment.
