Photographer Liam Barbeau has officially unveiled his debut solo exhibition titled “5”, a deeply personal and visually immersive body of work that explores global culture, memory, and presence through documentary-style photography.

Shot across multiple international locations including Paris, San Francisco, the Amalfi Coast, Jamaica, and Berlin, “5” presents a collection of moments captured in real time, reflecting Barbeau’s instinctive approach to photography, one centered on emotion, presence, and authenticity.
Barbeau’s work is rooted in human connection and inspired heavily by his family lineage and creative environment. The exhibition incorporated not only his photography but also elements of family-designed fashion, reinforcing the project’s core theme of generational artistry and cultural identity. Supporters, collaborators, and members of the creative community gathered in attendance to celebrate the launch of his first exhibition and the milestone moment in his career.
Over the course of his development as a photographer, Liam Barbeau has captured notable figures in music and culture including Daniel Caesar, 21 Savage, Lil Yachty, and Mariah the Scientist. His signature style is defined by its immediacy, images that place viewers directly into the lived moment rather than observing it from a distance.

“I truly just capture the moment,” Barbeau shared during the exhibition. “My focus is when someone sees a photograph, I want them to feel like they were there.”
When asked about the most challenging piece in the collection, Barbeau noted that none stood out as difficult. “No, every shot was in the moment. It was all God as He gave me the vision,” he said, emphasizing his belief in intuition and divine timing as central to his creative process. His body of work reflects a commitment to spontaneity, where each frame is unplanned yet intentional.
Family played a central role in the celebration of “5,” with relatives traveling from out of state to attend. Barbeau’s artistic foundation is deeply influenced by his lineage, his aunt’s personal home museum of framed experiences and his grandfather’s longstanding history in portrait painting dating back to 1992. With family roots spanning Ireland, France, and Italy, the exhibition reflects a broader narrative of heritage, identity, and inherited artistry.

I remember me and Liam first shoot together early in our careers. A 2023 test shoot he completed early in both of our journeys led to his first publication in PRAZE Magazine, including a standout image captured in front of a vintage Ford truck, an unplanned moment that later became a defining piece in his portfolio. That same shoot was later featured in Drizzel Magazine, a moment neither of us will ever forget.
The debut of “5” also emphasized community and shared experience. Guests were welcomed with complimentary refreshments, food vendors, and a gathering space designed to celebrate creativity and connection. The exhibition ultimately stood as both a personal milestone for Liam Barbeau and a communal celebration of art, storytelling, and global perspective. JOIN OUR FASHION WORLD
